101 Ways To Leave A Gameshow

BBC One · Game Shows · 20 Aug 2010 · by:

The Tower Of Terror returns to test another eight ordinary members of the public as they hope to answer general knowledge questions correctly and win a £10,000 cash prize. But, unlike any other game show in the world, answering a question incorrectly on this show means more than just humiliation – it means being dropped, pushed or shot off the studio for good. As always, the proceedings are overseen by Steve Jones, aided by his sidekick, Nemone.

Tonight's show includes a trainee maths teacher whose biggest fear is not being in control, and a swimming coach who aims to give his mum the winnings should he be the last lucky contestant left standing.

Conservation officer Richard, 31, plans to use the Earth's natural power to help him scoop the prize money, while 21-year-old administrator Kat hopes to make her boyfriend pop the question if she avoids the drop. One contestant who isn't short of words is fast-talking Scot Laura, who tries to avoid getting booted off the show – literally – when Steve reveals he will be kicking one contestant off the Tower with his huge, oversized comedy boot.

As ever, more unique, terrifying and downright silly exits await this batch of daredevils, including Exit No. 1, with the unlucky contestant holding the wrong answer facing a gut-wrenching bungee free-fall off the top of the Tower and off the show.

With the field cut in half Exit 70 is the ultimate petrolhead's dream and worst nightmare all rolled into one. Awaiting the losing contestant is a one-way ticket in a fast-moving car as it hits a ramp, sending it hurtling headlong into the cold and murky waters below the giant concrete tower.

With the sun setting, the remaining three contestants face the grand finale, Exit 101 itself – The Trapdoor. Here, it's all about choosing the one right answer. Two will fall through the floor into dark waters below, leaving just one lucky winner who will leave via the stairs, £10,000 better off.
