Kylie Minogue joins Jonathan Ross for this week's Friday Night With Jonathan Ross on BBC One.
In a remarkably frank interview Kylie revisits the worst days of her illness: "You're facing darkness. If you want to go away from that you have to reach out and find positive things."
"Whatever hope or help I can give to people in similar circumstances, I want to spread that message."
She explains how her family and fans sustained her: "The goodness I felt coming in my direction, I almost felt overwhelmed by it."
"I felt so bad for my mum and dad because they felt so helpless – the pressure on them was incredible."
Going back on tour was her salvation: "It's how I connect with people, that's what I really wanted to do – get back on stage."
She also tells Jonathan how she fell for boyfriend, Andres Velencoso, immediately: "I couldn't help but notice – yes, he's gorgeous"; and how she has to help him with his English: "I have to help him with texting – I'm his secretary."
She says she's not threatened by Lady GaGa: "I'm a fan of hers... I've got my own thing going on."
Finally, she reveals she'll appear with Scissor Sisters at Glastonbury this weekend and confirms a new UK tour next year.
Kylie also performs All The Lovers and Love At First Sight.
Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, 10.35pm, Friday 25 June 2010, BBC One.
