CITV

Hubble, bubble, toil and most definitely trouble, The New Worst Witch is back with a second series. Flying on to a CITV screen near you, Hettie Hubble, the worst witch ever, returns and she isn’t getting any better at being a witch!
Hettie is joined by all her old friends – and enemies – as she continues to concoct chaos and calamity at Miss Cackle’s Academy for Witches.

The New Worst Witch

Being a witch-in-training is never easy. You’ve got all your ‘alacazams’ and ‘alakazoos’ – and what does Tranferus Reversus Tempurus mean anyway? Learning the spells is hard enough without having to contend with cross-gender and sleep-inducing potions, dingy dungeons, and not to mention witch pox disease and fever!

Let’s hope they’ve been paying attention in those spell-making lessons!

As usual, Hettie (Alice Connor) is determined to be the best witch that the academy has ever seen, with a little help from her friends Mona Hallow (Anabel Barnston) and Cressie Winterchild (Paislie Reid), of course. There are two witches standing in their way, however: arch rival Belladonna Bindweed (Francesca Isherwood) and teaching tyrant Miss Hardbroom (Caroline O’Neill).

Based on the best-selling books by Jill Murphy, The New Worst Witch is a magical take on school life, where chemistry class is a potions lab, broomsticks are ridden instead of bikes, and ‘spelling’ lessons take on a whole new meaning.
Previous series of The Worst Witch have been sold to more than 60 countries and have scooped several international prizes, as well as Bafta, Prix Jeunesse and Royal Television Society award nominations.

The New Worst Witch is produced by Sue Austen.
