Paul AdamsPaul Adams is a BBC Diplomatic Correspondent, with a brief that covers a wide range of foreign and diplomatic stories.

Since taking on the role, he has travelled to Afghanistan to review NATO's progress there, covered the French EU referendum and G8 summits at Gleneagles and Heiligendamm, as well as reporting from Washington.

He has also been a frequent visitor to the Middle East for the 2006 war in Lebanon and its aftermath, as well as the 60th anniversary of the creation of the State of Israel.

Prior to this, Paul was BBC's Defence Correspondent – where he covered major stories such as British troop deployments in Macedonia and Afghanistan.

In his previous role as a BBC Middle East Correspondent, his reports included Israel's withdrawal from southern Lebanon, the Pope's historic visit to Israel and the dawning of the year 2000 in Bethlehem.

During his previous stint based in Jerusalem as a BBC reporter, from 1989 to 1992, Paul reported on a wide variety of events in the region including the Gulf War.

Paul was a BBC reporter based in Belgrade (1993-95), followed by two years (1995-97) working as a reporter for international news channel, BBC World.
