Sky Movies announced two brand new movie shows to air from this AutumnSky Movies announced today [Thursday, 30th October] two brand new movie shows to air from this Autumn.

Alex Zane’s Guest List will broadcast weekly from Monday 10th November at 7.30pm on Sky Movies Premiere. Presented by cinephile and Xfm breakfast presenter Alex Zane, each week a celebrity picked from the worlds of music, tv, fashion, and sport is invited to choose films which have special significance for them in a compelling half hour interview. These choices will be used as the basis for an intimate chat with Alex, sometimes funny, sometimes poignant about why they mean so much. Their film selections will subsequently be broadcast on Sky Movies.

In the first ep, Alex talks to star of Scary Movie and The House Bunny, Anna Faris who selects ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’, ‘Groundhog Day’, ‘A Fish Called Wanda’ and ‘Back to the Future’ and reveals some classic on-set disasters as well as a surprising love for a much maligned 80’s comedy. Future interviewees include Stephen Dorff, Juliette Binoche and Snow Patrol.

Alex Zane commented on the new show, “This is a show I've always wanted to do and it's great to be doing it on Sky Movies!"

Alex Zane’s Guest List will be made in-house by Sky Movies’ Production team and produced by Liz Elkington. It will play across Sky Movies’ channels, as well as Sky 1 each Sunday at 9am, Sky Player, Sky Anytime and Sky News Active.

Director of Sky Movies and SBO, Ian Lewis said “This is a side of Alex Zane people may not have seen before. His engaging, entertaining interview style coupled with his passion for film makes this a dream format for him and should guarantee great entertainment for our viewers.”

The Movie Geek is a brand new monthly show introduced by self-confessed ‘movie geek’ Josh Howie. A feast for serious film lovers, Howie will cast his expert eye over the latest Film Festival and film news alongside a fresh look at the very best Indie, Classics and World Cinema titles on the service. The Movie Geek will be shown across Sky Movies from Monday 1st December, produced by Amanny Mohamed.

These two major new series join Sky Movies’ existing shows - 35MM, Sky’s indispensable guide to what’s happening in the world of movies presented by comedian and Balls of Steel presenter, Mark Dolan; and The Family Show, a monthly round-up of the big family movies in both the cinema and on Sky presented by Craig Stevens.
