CELEBRITIES BEHAVING BADLY, SPOILT TEENS, PETE DOHERTY AND A BRAND NEW SERIES FROM THE MAKERS OF THE HILLS – ALL COMING TO MTV ONE IN 2009

In a worldwide exclusive, MTV gains unprecedented access to one of the UK’s most fascinating and intriguing modern-day celebrities, Pete Doherty. In a revealing one hour special entitled ‘Pete Doherty in 24hrs’, MTV cameras go behind the lurid tabloid headlines to film a full day in Pete Doherty’s slightly haphazard life. This enthralling and at-times heart-warming documentary marks the first time in over two years that the Babyshambles front man has participated in a television project.

Not to be outdone by the party planning skills of their trans-atlantic counterparts, My Super Sweet 16 UK will pull out all the celebratory stops with a week-long birthday bash extravaganza in April (full TX date TBC). The UK’s answer to the cult US hit, delivers all the trademark delirium and extravagance and gives a unique insight into the way the other half lives. From convertible cars and flashy jewellery to designer clothes and celebrity guests, expect tears and tantrums as the demanding birthday girls and boys plan their big day.

From February 1st 2009, agent to the stars, Jonathan Lipman, throws open the doors to his top London agency to provide a revealing insight into his celebrity-fuelled world. Jonathan and his team represent some of the biggest tabloid names on the planet including; Bianca Gascoigne, Andy Scott Lee, Charlotte Mears and Imogen Thomas from Big Brother. In this six week series, viewers will get to see what really goes on behind the red carpet flashbulbs, as P.A fees are negotiated, photo-shoots arranged and contracts are signed, sealed and delivered. Expect a special guest appearance from none other than US superstar Paris Hilton who rolls into London for one night only – earning herself a cool £30k in the process.

Alongside MTV UK’s in-house productions, MTV One will also be airing brand new offerings from the states including: Scream Queens, The City and 50 Cent: The Money & The Power. Scream Queens, sees ten unknown actresses battle it out to win a breakout role in Saw VI, one of the most successful horror movie franchises of all time. James Gunn, Director of Dawn of the Dead and Slither, together with tough Hollywood acting coach John Homa and Saw star Shawnee Smith make up the hard-to-please judging panel as the girls face tough challenges to win the coveted role.

Exciting news too for fans of ‘The Hills’ as creator Adam DiVello has developed a perfect spin-off entitiled, ‘The City’. Whitney Port (from Hills fame) packs up her LA lifestyle and heads to the bright lights of New York to start a new job at global design house, Diane Von Furstenberg. Making new friends, pursuing a fresh love life, and starting to work in the upper echelons of the fashion industry is a lot to take on for a new girl in a big city…especially one who has everything to lose. In a city full of people with their own agendas, Whitney will have to quickly decide who to trust and who to avoid.

After shooting to fame in 2003, superstar rapper 50 Cent knows a thing or two about business and how to make money. And he’s now ready to hand over $100,000 of his hard-earned cash to someone he thinks will be the next big business mogul. In 50 Cent: The Money & The Power on MTV Base, fourteen of the USA’s most ambitious entrepreneurs compete to master the business skills that took 50 Cent off the street and made him a household name. But just who has the drive, determination and guts to prevail and win the cash?
