Sydney Foster is a rebellious 15 year old girl who has driven her mother Lynn mad with her constant defiant behaviour. When Sydney gets drunk at a party and suffers alcohol poisoning Lynn takes drastic action and sends Sydney to stay with her father in a remote town in Minnesota. Sydney’s parents got divorced many years ago and her father Ben has since remarried and is expecting a baby with his new wife Emma.
