Kate and Ann are the best of friends and closer than sisters. When Ann is murdered on Halloween, Kate must struggle with her suspicions of Ann's seemingly devoted husband, Mike, her grief of losing her friend and her conflicting emotions about the two children that Ann left behind while Kate remains childless. But as time passes, cracks and contradictions in Mike's story begin to appear and Kate is not sure what to believe when it comes to her feelings, their friendship and his innocence.
