SNAKES ON A PLANE

Film Four · Thriller · 02 Jul 2010 · by: Film 4

The film that does what it says on the tin. Samuel L. Jackson plays Neville Flynn, an FBI agent escorting Sean Jones (Nathan Phillips), witness to a gangland slaying, from Hawaii to Los Angeles. However, the gangster, Eddie Kim (Byron Lawson), has secreted crates of venomous serpents in the cargo hold and when they're released, all hell breaks lose.

The film earned a reputation for the inclusion of plot by blogging fans, including one now infamous line but despite the novel approach to its production, David R Ellis' film is surprisingly well acted and tense, with Julianna Margulies as flight attendant Claire Miller and David Koechner as co-pilot Rick receiving a share of the cracking lines of dialogue. And like any disaster movie, the fun comes in the opening act when those who aren't going to make the landing are introduced. Will the plane's captain Sam McKeon (Tom Butler), blonde princess Mercedes (Rachel Blanchard) and rap artist Three G's (Flex Alexander) all survive? Possibly but probably not the character played by actor Matt Baker, cast as 'Man Bitten on Penis'.
