Murder 101 is the name of a series of two-hour TV movies appearing regularly on the Hallmark Channel since 2006. In it, Dick Van Dyke stars as professor Dr. Jonathan Maxwell, an absent-minded and brillant criminologist. His son Barry Van Dyke co-stars as a former cop who is working as a private investigator. Along with the movie series McBride, Jane Doe, and Mystery Woman, it is broadcast in rotation under the umbrella title Hallmark Channel Mystery Movie.

Criminology expert Dr Jonathan Maxwell (Dick Van Dyke) investigates the murder of a high-flying executive at his mansion home. The prime suspect in the case quickly becomes a female investigative journalist who knew the deceased man very well, and who was preparing an undercover story on scandal in the corporate world.
